calcium question
Jun 15 2006, 12:07 PM EDT I'm trying to decide if I want to do this diet, but I'm not sure about getting enough calcium with no diary allowed. Can someone recommend a good suplement? Do you find this valuable? |

RE: calcium question
Jul 6 2006, 12:57 PM EDT Actually, the calcium in leafy greens is more available than the calcium in milk. The calcium in milk is appropriate for calves and I'm not a calf. :) A raw foodist's bones (if he/she is on the optimal raw diet) are light but stonger than someone who is on SAD. I haven't done the research myself but if you google it, you'll find references to it. RE: calcium question
Jul 14 2006, 5:31 PM EDT Actually, the concept that we only get calcium from dairy products is a myth. Green leafy vegetables, seeds and nuts all have high levels of calcium. You can also purchase Vegan calcium supplements from VeganEssentials.com. They have soft chew calcium supplements. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |
