how do you get protein?

I'd like to eliminate meat completely, but I don't want to become anemic (i'm prone to it). What are other ways to be sure there's enough proteinin a raw food diet? 7  out of 8 found this valuable. Do you?

You will get all the protien you need in raw green leafy vegtables and seeds, nuts, grains plus more...get yourself some raw food diet books and educate yourself first about raw food eating...a great one to start with is 12 Steps to Raw Foods by Victoria Boutenko, it explains a lot, also, the dvd by Alissa Cohen " LIVING ON RAW FOOD" is great too This dvd demonstrates how to make all the recipes plus a lot of information on raw food and dehydrate food .....Good Luck.... 5  out of 5 found this valuable. yes, i agree that the nuts and greens will give plenty of protein....i even add protein rich brewers yeast to my daily juicing. but i do like to add a small amount of marinated sushi grade tuna to my salads...i won't drink raw milk, so i have gone to soy milk....but i have found a great raw sharp cheddar cheese at the local co-op....i would advise against raw beef unless you personally know the grower and butcher....the stuff you get in the large grocery chains in down right scary!....also remember to include some pure virgin olive oil on your greens, watch out for getting enough healthy fats....who else is excited at how the weight magically drops off, the skin glows and aches and pains have faded? 2  out of 2 found this valuable. There are so many ways to get protein other than red meat! LOL, first I love eating soaked garbonzo beans as a snack. I soak them for about 15 hours in water, and they are soft, but still have a crunch-they are great to give to the kiddos mixed with some fried fruits! All you have to do is use your nogging to come up with creative ways to do things. :) 3  out of 3 found this valuable. Do you?

In the famous book "The Secret Life of Plants", the authors (all scientists, I believe) discovered that smoked or salted raw ham had an incredibly high level of "life force". I enjoy raw ham occasionally, it is free of parasites. As a child, I had a craving for raw meat - beef especially - and would steal some from the fridge. I guess my body needed it. I also enjoy the occasional beef tartare (from organic farms). I live in Switzerland where the standard for meat is extremely high so there is little to no risk of catching parasites, and where farm animals are well treated and raised, by law. I have also always liked raw egg yolk - it is used, among other things, to bind the tartare, and my mother used to make us a delicious Russian dessert consisting of raw egg yolks whipped with raw cane sugar (unrefined) for a full ten minutes, by hand using a fork. Raw ewe's milk or goat's milk from organic farms is beneficial, and, if you can get it, raw camel's milk is extraordinarily good for you and for growing children - it provides so many antibodies that those raised on it are seldom if ever sick. 0  out of 1 found this valuable. Fantastic your going raw, this is an amazing lifestyle change for the better, as most would agree. Protein is also in all Fruits, and they contain everything you could possibly require for your body, tho soils nowdays are lacking so make sure for your highest good you do take a good organic vitamin and mineral suppliment. Iron from all the darks salady stuff will also boost your system, but the minerals will be the best be i feel. It is also a myth that you need large doses of protein. Protein is made by Amino Acids and you get these from your fruits nuts seeds and veggies also, you cn get these from health food stores and i believe they are working extremely well for many who take them. one does not have to eat just meat to get get protein you can eat a whole lot of things to supply yourself with enough protein for your body. you can eat lots of peanuts, peanut butter, some beans have a bit of protein in them and even some greeneries do have proteins and you could also take protein supliments if you like so you can stop eating meat if you like you just have to get other saurces of protein for your body Do you find this valuable?
