RE: How To Detox
Jul 30 2008, 12:04 PM EDT I would suggest that when first making the transition to a Raw Food Diet you start by adding things in. If you just switch cold turkey from a normal American diet it will not be easy and you will most likely not stick with it... one reason for this is that your body (your stomach especially) is used to doing a lot of extra processing in order to extract the nutrients from your food. With a raw food diet, your stomach/body does not have to work as hard because the nutrients are more accessible and your body doesn't have to incur the cost of extra processing to sift through all the herbicides, pesticides, high fructose, partially hydrogenated... well you get the point! At any rate you will not need to consume as much raw foods as you would processed foods because they are denser nutritionally speaking. If you just cut right over from a standard diet you will have pretty intense hunger pains and those will be accompanied by intense cravings... which will make your life very difficult! But if you just start adding in the good stuff (superfoods such as raw amazon cacao, goji berries, etc.) you will notice that you need less of the crap in your diet. So the more you add in the good stuff the easier the transition will be for you, and the less you will need the other CRAP! Do you find this valuable? |
