getting ready to start
I have read so many good things about this life style, not a diet! I can't wait to start. I have been limiting the amount of meat in my diet already, so I hope this change to raw will be fairly easy. The hardest part I think will be no pop, coffe or tea. I would love to make sun tea but I live in MI and it is getting down into the single digits tonight. Too cold to make sun tea!! If anyone has ideas of how to make tea, I would appraciate it!!

Start slow!
The best advice that I can give to anyone who wants to start the raw lifestyle is to start at your own pace. Begin by analyzing your current eating habits and figuring out where you can add more raw and natural foods. Also, try a new vegetable each week so you can get an idea of the wonderful variety that exists in nature. Before you know it, you'll see all of the great options available to you when you are eating raw.

Starting off
I started off with doctors orders, right away, just jumped in...first few days were really tough, after that, it's really not that tough, you begin to adjust and add new things. I would say I am 90 - 95 % raw food, occasionally I will add a tablespoon of tuna to a salad and I still have my coffee, everything else is raw. Maybe as I get more equipment and learn new recipes, I can go 100%, but otherwise things are going great!

I started RAW!
My skin is like drying....I think it is rejuvenating! I also had stopped using apple cider vinegar on my face...got lazy and lack of time...now that I am using it again things are better. I am hoping to get the coffee thing whipped. I love hot tea also...red tea. I will do it!
I have 7 children. Hope to have more...we will see....my body is not healthy right now and my cycles are off. I am hoping as my body heals my cycles will come back.
You look too young to have 4 blessings! That is great! Is your whole family raw? Right now it is just me...but my daughter who is getting married in June is starting...and my 11 year old is also.

how do you get protein?
You will get all the protien you need in raw green leafy vegtables and seeds, nuts, grains plus more...get yourself some raw food diet books and educate yourself first about raw food eating...a great one to start with is 12 Steps to Raw Foods by Victoria Boutenko, it explains a lot, also, the dvd by Alissa Cohen " LIVING ON RAW FOOD" is great too This dvd demonstrates how to make all the recipes plus a lot of information on raw food and dehydrate food .....Good Luck....

Jump in with both feet or ease in inch by inch?
Hi everyone....I am starting raw!! I got interested in this because of reading about Carol Alt and raw food dieting. I am a breast cancer survivor who gained 40 lbs during treatment due to medications and slef-indulgence. I can't seem to either lose the weight or get back to my old self. I feel really bad almost all of the time......no energy, depressed, and the list goes on and on. On top of all that I also have lupus. So am going to try this and see how it goes.
Does anyone know do you just jump in or ease in?

Raw Foods and Health
When I discovered Lesley kenton's Biogenic Diet, I thought I was fully recovered from 5 years of M.E. I couldn't have done it earlier in the disease cycle, because I wouldn't have had the energy or will. But when I did, WOW! It should me that probably most of us live at only about 80% health and think that's as good as it gets. Once I started eating Lesley's delicious salads and soups and nut and seed cheeses, my recovery skyrocketed and I felt better than I ever had. Now I say I had M.E. for 6 years, but the last year, once I ate raw foods, was when i got 100% better.
