The Benefits of a Raw Foods Diet
Many people may come to the raw way of eating because it is an effective way to lose weight. But that's not the only benefit of adopting this healthy lifestyle; the raw foods diet has been linked to more energy, healthier skin, a reduced risk of heart disease and better digestion. In addition, raw foods provide the following benefits:
Research and real life experiences have also shown that a person can prevent a body's healthy cells from turning into malignant cancerous cells by consuming mostly a raw food diet & whole organic foods.
- Raw foods are easy to digest
- Raw foods provide the maximum amount of energy with minimal bodily effort
- Raw foods have healing powers that can alleviate many illnesses from low energy, allergies, digestive disorders, weak immune system, high cholesterol, candida, to obesity & weight problems (weight normalization), etc.
Research and real life experiences have also shown that a person can prevent a body's healthy cells from turning into malignant cancerous cells by consuming mostly a raw food diet & whole organic foods.
What is Wrong with Cooked Foods?
Heat changes the makeup of food. Foods that have been heated have lost all of their life force, and their beneficial enzymes are destroyed. The digestive system has to work harder and longer to process cooked foods to get nutrition & energy from it. Once cooked, a food can lose up to 85 percent of its nutritional value. Raw foodists call that "dead food." Since we are essentially what we eat, consuming the dead energy of dead foods make our bodies feel heavy and stagnant.

I spent a couple of years eating wild and raw, growing my own fruit veg salad and herbs...not a choice as such, more a natural progression.
One day my friend brought over some onion pakoras and i tried to eat one and UGH!-Was like eating matter, plain matter....like dirt or something!was a crazy experience, and really switched me on to how much energy raw and wild food contains. I also felt full up after eating so much less food..... Admittedly i ate some cooked grain.....and once in a while hunted a rabbit and had stew. Its hard to be raw in a local sense....shipping in food from other countries doesn't apeal to my ethics. Balance is the way eh!? Peace up.x |

When I discovered Lesley kenton's Biogenic Diet, I thought I was fully recovered from 5 years of M.E. I couldn't have done it earlier in the disease cycle, because I wouldn't have had the energy or will. But when I did, WOW! It should me that probably most of us live at only about 80% health and think that's as good as it gets. Once I started eating Lesley's delicious salads and soups and nut and seed cheeses, my recovery skyrocketed and I felt better than I ever had. Now I say I had M.E. for 6 years, but the last year, once I ate raw foods, was when i got 100% better.

I discovered the raw food way of living years ago when I was recovering from M.E. That's when I discovered Lesley Kenton's book, The Biogenic Diet. I've been a big fan of Lesley's for many years, but what appealed to me most about her book was it's emphasis on the more subtle, energetic component of raw foods, particularly sprouted nuts, seeds and grains - that is, they are foods that are alive, carryig the energy of life. And therefore they can transfer that energy to us and at some subtle level, our own life force is enhanced by that. I recommend sll sorts of sprouts, and even suggest just soaking various nuts and seeds, which helps them to begin converting their oils to proteins in preparation for new growth, and thus reducing calories and increasing health benefits.
