Raw Meat and Fish
Something to consider
Raw food purists do not eat meat or fish, even raw preparations such as tartare, carpaccio and sashimi. Though these are indeed raw foods, some feel the parasites carried by raw fish and meat are damaging to the body and counter the health aims of a raw food diet. They also worry that, with regard to fish, ocean contamination known to collect in the fatty deposits of fish is passed on to sushi diners, again working against the purification aims of eating raw. However new-school raw foodists do make room for a broader range of raw foods including raw or unpasteurized dairy products, raw eggs, raw fish and raw meat, arguing that humans have evolved to eat this array of raw foods going back to the Stone Age and that evolution hasn’t had enough time for us to adapt to a world of processed foods. These eaters claim to get more calcium, protein and vitamin D than plant-only raw foodists, though debate rages over the subject.

I'd like to eliminate meat completely, but I don't want to become anemic (i'm prone to it). What are other ways to be sure there's enough proteinin a raw food diet?

I eat sashimi (raw fish), limited raw beef, and consume raw, unpasturized organic dairy. I am not fond of the nuts and some seeds and I prefer to occasionally have the raw fish and meat. I do consume about 16-24 oz of milk each day. In fact, consuming the raw dairy is what made me move to a raw diet. The milk alone had a positive effect on the way I felt.

I eat salmon gravlox, raw goat cheese, and rare organic beef. Most days everything that I eat is raw with the exception of one or two items mentioned above. I just hate the taste of nuts and seeds unless they are in a dessert. Also I don't want to live on desserts and veggies. I think that if your ancestors are from a cold climate that you crave meat. Could you imagine putting an eskimo on a raw diet that did not include raw fish.
