When you are making, particularly raw food, smoothies, the machine you make it in is important. A heavy duty blender, such as the BlenTek or the VitaMix, will make the nutrients more available, and will last longer, given the hard usage over time. I'm not just talking about the fact that we may use the machine more often than many, but that the stuff we pack into it is hard on the works of the blender.
I have owned a VitaMix for about 20 years, and about 2 months ago, got a BlenTek. I really love the BlendTek. It is programmed for the various uses, so you don't overdo the blending, or under do it. With these type of blenders, if you go too long, you can actually cook the contents. It doesn't actually boil, and so it destroys less of the nutrients than stove-top methods, but a hot smoothie is less appealing to me. My wife and I have a green smoothie every morning, and a sweeter one in the evening every day. |

I'm trying to decide if I want to do this diet, but I'm not sure about getting enough calcium with no diary allowed. Can someone recommend a good suplement?

I've never seen this before.. where can I find it? Is it in regular grocery stores, or will I have to order it special?
